Killala 0 Mulranny Utd 3

Poor finishing and even worse defending cost Killala 3 valuable points at Courthouse St. today. This reverse puts them right back into the relegation dogfight with only 4 games to go where a win here would have almost certainly gauranteed them safety.Kilala can point to the fact that they were missing 6 first team regulars for this dismal showing but the 11 that started did more than enough to get something from the game but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal. Jonny McNulty , Rory Gallagher and Noel McLeish all had good chances for Killala but failed to register on the scoresheet. The visitors played the better football in the first half but were fortunate to be in front at half time when a mistake in the killala defence allowed them to go one up with an unchallenged header from the edge of the box. A goal just after the break given away again by sloppy defending spurred the homeside into life and they enjoyed thier best spell of the match and a comeback looked on the cards until they were hit with the 3rd Mulranny goal once again given away through sloppy defending and this killed the game as a contest. With 4 games left now every point is going to be vital.Team Sean McHale, David Lowther, David Cadden, Eamon Knox, Aidan Ferguson, Jonny McNulty, Ronan Heffron, John Clarke, Mark McLoughlin, Rory Gallagher, Noel McLeish,Subs Marc McDonnell, Davis Boyd, Danny Gallagher
