Ballina Town 0 Killala 7
Picking up their recent downfall, the Killala U14 girls had another fantastic win over rivals Ballina Town. Mid-fielder Aoileen Collins opened the game with a superb run, and with beating Ballina’s keeper, Collins hit home to score the first goal of the game. With both teams finding it hard to settle, Collins bagged two more goals for Killala to have a 3-0 lead at half time. Minutes after the break, Collins scored yet another 2, including a striking top corner. As the game proceeded, Killala began trying out new moves and positions, resulting with goals from defender Sharon Kileen and winger Rachel Munnelly. Newly established goal keeper Megan Bilbow had a run out field contributing greatly to Killala’s defence, with centre half and captain Grainne McHale moving up the pitch and testing the keeper. Endless efforts from young striker Alison Munnelly also kept the opposing keeper busy, but Munnelly unfortunately failed to reach the back of the net. Killala kept Ballina in their own half throughout the game which ended in a 7-0 victory to the well deserved Killala team. Over all a good performance form the girls, with management Ciara and Elaine looking to keep the good streak up.
