U-17 Boys Just Edged Out

By tdomf_d782a

Hard luck to the u17 boys who went down 2-1 to Galway Hibs at Courthouse St today. A terrific free kick from Cathal Scott gave the lads the lead but Hibs hit back with two late second half goals. A dramatic final few minutes saw our lads nearly grab the equaliser and when the Hibs keeper brought down Kevin Healy in the box to give away a penalty it looked like extra time. The keeper who should have been sent off saved the Peno and Hibs advanced to rd 2.A brilliant game for the spectators from a great team performance with D Lavelle in the killala goal outstanding.

By tdomf_d782a

Having already secured the title Killala U-16 boys made the journey to Snugboro and ended up sharing the spoils with a 0-0 draw. Both sides had chances to win the game, the best being a snugboro penalty which was missed. The champions were presented with the shield after the match and celebrations began to end a very good season for this talented group.

U-16 Boys Keep Pressure On Rivals

By tdomf_d782a

League leaders Killala played host to title rivals Urlaur Utd tonight at Courthouse St and tightened their grip at the top with a comprehensive 6-2 win. it was not all plain sailing though and goals from Kyle McLoughlin & Nathan Browne had the home team 2-1 at the break in a tight competitive match. But the game became bad tempered in the second half with the sides locked 2-2 which saw the visitors finish with seven players. Killala scored a further 4 through Kevin Healy (2) Anthony Kearney & Aaron O Boyle to remain top and set up a cracker away to Snugboro Utd in two weeks where a win will crown them champions.
